This article presents a conceptual analysis of the psychoanalytic tradition in relation to contemporary psychodynamic approaches, with a focus on its applied relevance for in-depth exploration of the subject’s psyche. The study examines the transformation of classical Freudian concepts of the unconscious as a determinant of behavior and their reinterpretation within modern psychological frameworks.
The findings indicate a shift from predominantly verbal modes of analysis toward mediated forms of psychic representation, particularly symbolic and visualized expressions, which enable access to latent psychic processes. In this context, the analytical capacities of the method of active socio-psychological cognition (ASPC) are highlighted as an effective tool for identifying unconscious determinants and internal contradictions. Empirical material from in-depth
psychocorrectional practice demonstrates that symbolic and behavioral manifestations reflect internal conflicts, affective fixations, and defense mechanisms that are not directly accessible to conscious awareness. Their activation in dialogical interaction facilitates the emergence of latent meanings, supporting processes of awareness and partial transformation.
The study emphasizes the importance of integrating theoretical and applied dimensions of psychodynamic knowledge, contributing to both the interpretation of psychic phenomena and their role in personal development. The findings support the application of ASPC in the professional training of psychologists, particularly for developing reflective capacities and the ability to engage in deep-level psychological analysis.
